Everyone associated with Hartley learns these few things about us quickly. If you haven't been involved with our projects or community, then here's a little about our spirit.

Freedom
At Hartley, you don't just have a job. If your position is unfilled, then every other team member feels the strain. This means you are important. With importance comes a respect for what you do. And with that respect comes your freedom to work, for the most part, exactly as you choose. A series of goals and responsibilities are decided upon for each project, and provided you work within those bounds, and in some cases within your allotted budget, the completion is up to you.

Intensity
As stated above, each part of the Hartley team is important. Each piece of every puzzle must fit when needed. That leads to the fierce intent on success that each Hartley member shares. By 'fierce,' we mean 21 hours at the office while the CEO sends out for food. Everything is fast-paced and constantly growing.

Respect
Every business pushes an importance on this, and we certainly agree. We take it very far. There are coders and there are business persons. There are those great with graphics and those poor with DBMS. Each person is part of the Hartley team for at least one reason. Each other team member respects that. No exceptions.

Fun
Take a look at DailyWheel - Hartley's Community Portal. From the comic drawn by the CEO, to the blog there and blogs of other team members, you see tons of humor. Some of the projects are humorous, and even those projects which are straight-laced to a point have their "Easter Eggs" and special features that are enough to draw a smile. We aren't just goofy. Our team members have a healthy respect for laughter. If you can't laugh at your place of business, then you won't be comfortable at Hartley. Soft drinks, food, music, and breaks are abundant. Hartley offers tools for success and fun, and as stated above, gives you the freedom to choose when to work and when to play.
